The service provided by Angus was quite simply exceptional, and this is having discussed our situation with around 5/6 other funeral directors who didn't seem quite able to manage our complex needs related to repatriation to Ireland with significant time constraints. He problem solved his way through everything, and made light work of issues that we thought were sticking points (or so it seemed from our side no doubt a lot of work behind the scenes!). From the beginning communication was brilliant, very responsive including out of hours, with no lack in care or quality of the service despite the efficiency. Both my sister and I really feel Angus went above and beyond and seemed to understand our needs perfectly, we were able to relax knowing we were in safe hands. It was such a delight to find someone who cares about doing his job so very well - at such a delicate and painful time in our lives, it made an incredible difference to us to have is care and support. Thank you Angus, we will always remember how much you helped us.

Paul and his team did a wonderful job for us in arranging Dad's funeral. They were caring, considerate, respectful and efficient in everything they did. Nothing was too much trouble to ask for. Godalming Funeral Service organised the funeral of our friend on 14th January 2026. Due to a lorry fire on the M3, the roads in the area and further afield were gridlocked and we arrived too late for the service. As soon as we spoke to Paul, he went out of his way to help us. There were no more service sheets available and Paul found us one held by the crematorium staff. Furthermore, he advised us how to apply for a video download of the service and arranged for this to be emailed to us. Without his assistance, we would have had nothing to remember our friend by and he resolved an unhappy situation over which we had no control. In the short time that we spent with Paul, his kindness, professionalism and compassion shone out. We would have no hesitation in recommending Godalming Funeral Service.

The professionalism of the team on the Day of Funeral - they faced atrocious weather but did not falter from start to finish - this was not a surprise as they were led by Anghus who is a credit to your business, from our initial telephone conversation, through our face to face consultations his confident professional approach coupled with warmth and empathy was simply brilliant.
